Pentjak Silat means, literally, the formal movements or choreography (Pentjak) of fighting (Silat). Pentjak Silat is a very effective Indonesian martial art, renowned for its use of triangular motion and close quarters fighting style. Our instructor, Dr. Scott Sobel, holds the rank of Guru Tua. Guru Sobel is under the instruction of Andre KnustGraichen. The Pentjak Silat we practice is NOT a sport: it's an art of self-defense.
